Dengue: Symptoms, Remedy and Treatment |
Dengue has spread its feet. This initially normal fever may prove fatal with delayed or incorrect treatment. Things are under control if there is proper treatment on time.
How and when dengue occurs:-
Dengue is caused by the bite of the female Aedes aegypti mosquito. These mosquitoes have leopard-like stripes on their bodies. These mosquitoes bite during the day, especially in the morning. Dengue spreads most during the rainy season and in the immediate months that is from July to October as there are favorable conditions for mosquitoes to thrive in this season. Aedes aegypti mosquito does not fly to very high altitudes.
How does it spread:-
Dengue virus is present in excessive amount in the blood of a patient suffering from dengue fever. When an Aedes mosquito bites a dengue patient, it sucks that patient's blood. Dengue virus also goes into the body of the mosquito along with the blood. When that mosquito with dengue virus bites another human, then that virus reaches the body of that person, causing him to suffer from dengue virus. When do you see illness:-
The symptoms of dengue fever start appearing in the patient about 3-5 days after the bite. The duration of the disease in the body can also be 3 to 10 days.
What kind of dengue is there?
Everything about Dengue: Symptoms, Remedy and Treatment |
It is of three types
1. Classical (simple) dengue fever
2. Dengue haemorrhagic fever (DHF)
3. Dengue Shock Syndrome (DSS)
Of these three, the second and third types of dengue are the most dangerous. Simple dengue fever is cured on its own and there is no risk of death but if someone has DHF or DSS and does not start treatment immediately, it can be killed. Therefore it is most important to recognize that fever is simple dengue, DHF or DSS.
What are the symptoms:-
Simple dengue fever
Sudden high fever after a coldHead, muscle and joint pain
Pain in the back of the eye, which is aggravated by pressing or moving the eyes
Too much weakness, loss of appetite and nausea and poor taste in mouth
Mild sore throat
Red-pink color rash on the body, especially on the face, neck and chest
Classical simple dengue fever lasts for about 5 to 7 days and the patient recovers. In most cases, this type of dengue fever occurs.
Dengue haemorrhagic fever (DHF)
Bleeding from nose and gums
Defecation or vomiting
Small or large spots of dark blue-black color on the skin
If these symptoms are seen along with the symptoms of classical simple dengue fever, then it can be bad. It can be detected by blood test.
Dengue Shock Syndrome (DSS)
In this fever, along with the symptoms of DHF, some symptoms of 'shock' are also seen. like :
The patient becomes very restless and despite high fever, his skin feels cold.
The patient gradually begins to lose consciousness.
The pulse of the patient sometimes starts moving fast and sometimes slowly. His blood pressure becomes very low.
Note: Dengue can sometimes cause multi organ failure. In this, the fluid present inside the cells escapes. Water gets stored inside the stomach. Lungs and liver are affected and they stop working.
Which tests:-
If there is high fever, severe pain in joints or rashes on the body, then dengue test should be done on the first day. If there are no symptoms, but high fever persists, then after waiting for one or two days, go to the Physician. When in doubt, the doctor will get dengue examined. The antigen blood test (NS1) is initially performed to check for dengue. In this test, dengue initially becomes more positive, while later the positivity starts decreasing gradually. This test is about 1000 to 1500 rupees. If after three to four days the test is done then it is better to do the antibody test (dengue sirology). 600 to 1500 rupees are charged for this. The total count of white blood cells and different count should be done while examining dengue. In this test, the number of platelets is known. Dengue tests are done in most hospitals and labs. Test report arrives in 24 hours. Good labs also report in two to three hours. These tests can be done either on an empty or full stomach.
Role of Platelets:-
Normally, a healthy person has one and a half to two lakh platelets in his body. Platelets work to prevent bleeding of the body. If platelets are less than one lakh, then it can be due to dengue. However, it is not necessary that anyone who has dengue, their platelets go down. If the platelets are less than one lakh, the patient should be admitted to the hospital immediately. If platelets fall to 20 thousand or below, then platelets need to be offered. Bleeding does not occur until 40-50 thousand platelets. Dengue virus usually reduces platelets, causing bleeding in the body. If the platelets are falling fast, for example there were one lakh in the morning and by 50-60 thousand by the afternoon, then by the evening one can fall to 20 thousand. In such a situation, doctors start arranging platelets so that platelets can be offered to the patient as and when required. It takes three-four hours to remove platelets.
Children are more at risk:-
Children's immune system is more vulnerable and they live more in the open, so there is a greater need to be conscious of them. Parents should note that children go out of the house wearing full clothes. Where there is play, there is no dirty water nearby. School administration should take care that mosquitoes do not thrive in schools. Very young children do not even openly tell about the disease, so if the child is crying too much, sleeping continuously, restless, has high fever, rashes, vomiting, or any of these symptoms. See a doctor immediately. If children have dengue, they should be treated at the hospital only because platelets in children fall quickly and they also have dehydration (lack of water) quickly.
treatment of dengue:-
If the patient has simple dengue fever, then treatment and care can be done at home.- Paracetamol (Crocin etc.) can be taken after consulting the doctor.
Do not take aspirin (disprin etc.) at all. These can reduce platelets.
If the fever is more than 102 degrees Fahrenheit, then put water bandages on the patient's body.
- Continue giving food normally. In the condition of fever, the body needs to eat more.
- Allow the wine to rest.
If the patient sees any symptom of DSS or DHF, take him to the doctor as soon as possible. Platelets are reduced in DSS and DHF fever, which may affect essential parts of the body. Not every patient with dengue fever needs platelets, only dengue haemorrhagic and dengue shock syndrome fever require platelets to climb. If treatment is started at the right time, then complete treatment of DSS and DHF is possible.
Allopathy-
Its medicine is given only after seeing the symptoms and after a blood test of platelets. But in any type of dengue, the lack of water should not be allowed in the patient's body. Drink plenty of water and other liquids (lemon water, buttermilk, coconut water, etc.) so that the blood does not thicken and does not freeze. Also, the patient should take complete rest. Relaxation is also a medicine for dengue.
Ayurveda-
It has no patent medicine in the age group. But for dengue, you can adopt this recipe. One teaspoon of Giloy juice in a cup of water (if it has a stem, take a four-inch stem. Take it from a vine that has been planted on a neem tree), two black pepper, five basil leaves and ginger in the water. Boil the decoction and take it for 5 days. If desired, a little salt and sugar can also be added to it. Take it twice a day, after breakfast in the morning and before dinner at night.
Take precaution:-
Do not drink cold water, do not eat refined flour and stale food.
Use turmeric, celery, ginger, asafetida as much as possible.
In this season, do not eat leafy vegetables, arabesque, cauliflower.
Eat light food, which can be easily digested.
- Get complete sleep, drink plenty of water and boil water.
-Do not eat mirch spices and fried food, eat less than hunger, do not overfeed.
- Drink plenty of water. Drink plenty of buttermilk, coconut water, lemon water etc.
How to avoid dengue:-
There are only two ways to avoid dengue. To prevent Aedes mosquitoes from being born. Protect against Aedes mosquito bites.Measures to prevent mosquitoes from being born
- Do not allow water to accumulate around the house or office, fill the pits with soil, clean the blocked drains.
- If it is not possible to stop the accumulation of water, then add petrol or kerosene oil to it.
- All the water of the room coolers, vases once a week and the birds should be completely emptied, dry and then fill the pot of water for food. Do not keep broken boxes, tires, utensils, bottles etc. in the house. If kept, keep it inverted.
- Dengue mosquitoes thrive in clean water, so keep the water tank closed thoroughly.
If possible, prevent mosquitoes from entering the house by placing fine mesh on windows and doors.
Use mosquito repellent creams, sprays, mats, coils, etc. to drive away and kill mosquitoes. A good home remedy is mosquito repellent from the smoke of guggul.
- Spray mosquito repellent once a week in all places inside the house. Sprinkle this medicine on the back of photo-frames, curtains, calendars etc. and in store-rooms and all corners of the house. While spraying the medicine, definitely tie a cloth on your mouth and nose. Also, keep all food and drink covered.
Mosquito bite protection:-
- Wear clothes that cover most of the body. This caution is very important especially for children. Children should not wear shorts and T-shirts during malaria season.
Apply mosquito repellent to children.
- Apply mosquito nets at night while sleeping.
pay attention:-
In case of fever these days, only take paracetamol (Crocin, Calpol etc.). Do not take aspirin (desprin, ecosprin) or analgesic (Bruffin, Combiflame etc.) at all. Because if there is dengue, taking aspirin or bruffin etc. can reduce platelets and can cause bleeding from the body.
Sometimes on the fourth-fifth day the fever is less, then it seems that the patient is recovering, while platelets often start falling. Even after the fever subsides, do platelet count test once in every two days.
If someone has dengue, keep it inside a mosquito net so that mosquitoes do not bite it and spread the disease to others.
Rescue also cure:-
- To avoid illness, be physically fit, mentally strong and emotionally balanced.
Eat well, drink well and sleep well.
Apply mustard oil on the inside of the nose. This prevents the smoothness of the oil from entering the bacteria from inside.
Use more turmeric in the food. Take half a teaspoon of turmeric with water in the morning or half a teaspoon of turmeric with a glass of milk or at night. But if you have cold, cold or phlegm etc. do not take milk. Then you can take turmeric with water.
- Take juice of eight-ten basil leaves mixed with honey or boil 10 basil leaves in a glass of water, when that is half then drink that water.
Drink plenty of vitamin-C things like: You can take two gooseberries, oranges or seasonal in a day. This keeps our immune system right.
Don't try yourself:-
Do not take any anti-biotic or any other medicine of your choice. If the fever is high, go to the doctor and take medicine on his advice.
In these days of fever, only paracetamol can be taken. Do not take aspirin at all because if there is dengue then taking aspirin or brefin etc. can reduce platelets.
Do not take any medicine on your own even if you have a minor cough.
Do not go to doctors with no experience. Often such doctors give any medicine without thinking. Do not take Dexamethasone (generic name) injection and tablet at all. Quacks often give injections and tablets to patients, which can also lead to death.
The above information is enough to fight against the dangerous dengue disease.
